Online concerts;
The Camperdown Robert Burns Festival is set to launch its virtual festival on Saturday the 4th of July with ‘Live Concerts’ streaming on Facebook and Instagram along with new content on our website camperdownburnsfestival.com.au.
Luke Plumb, Fiona Ross, Kate Bourke and The Cornerhouse Band will be the first of our performers over our virtual festival weekend. We plan to present further live streaming concerts later in the year.

Our website will feature an array of material that tells the story of the festival while showcasing our beautiful district and spotlighting the many connections that Camperdown Victoria has to Scottish heritage.

Festival Coordinator, Catherine O’Flynn, shares an Acknowledgement of Country filmed at The Wombeetch Puyuun Reconciliation Park.
From across the waves Robert Burns World Federation President, Brian Goldie, is interviewed by Festival Chairperson Dr John Menzies OAM. This includes a mini tour of Camperdown’s town square and shows the Robert Burns statue located in the Corangamite Shire offices.
Ceilidh demonstrates and invites everyone to have a go at Cape Breton dancing. There’s also Highland Dancing footage and a short excerpt looking at the details of highland dance costume.
Camperdown & District Heritage Centre Inc. volunteers have provided a video that gives the virtual festival a sense of its historical context. There are lecture series previews from Ruth Pullin, David Jellie & Andrew Lemon whose topics range from ‘von Guérard and the Scots of the Western District’, ‘The legacy of Camperdown district Scots and the Manifolds to Australian horse racing’ and ‘The legacy of Scottish Engineers, Telford and McAdam, to Australia’s roads’.
Warrnambool Pipe Band, led by Pipe Major Donald Blair OAM, invite you to virtually meet some of their players as they share tunes from their respective homes.
Our musicians and poets have kindly allowed us material that will provide the virtual festival’s soundtrack with links to discover more about the artists.
Everyone has contributed in new and unexpected ways – almost a Gala dinner virtual feast! Speaking of which the festivals ever popular dinner gathering is celebrated virtually with footage from previous years to give you a taste. There’ll be an ‘address or few’ to the haggis to discover and much more!
